Why I Need Your Help?

I am Christopher Handy, and I am the Pastor of The New Testament Bible Church. The New Testament Bible Church (TNTBC) is a non-denomination Christian Church Ministry geared toward spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. We are a small and active community Church striving to carry out the great commission. In the 5 years of our existence we have tripled in size, but we still rent our current location, where we hold our services.

We are now faced with the news that our current location has been sold and we are required to vacate the building within 90 days. Our Current Building Fund Balance is $3,200.00 as of 2-20-05 and our goal is $160,000.00

Therefore, we need a larger place to hold our worship services, to be more comfortably, to be more visible to the community, and to be more attractive to newcomers. We want to reach out to all people of all different race, nationality, creed, and gender. Our Ministry reaches out to out casts of society such gang members, drug dealers and addicts, substance abusers, at-risk youths, and the poor and needy. These are the un-churched of our society who truly needs Christ in their lives.

Let me give you a little background about myself so you will know about me.... I am a 38 year old African-American male living in here Monroe, Louisiana. I am married and the father of three children. I currently work for the Monroe City Court as the Mentor Coordinator for at-risk youths.

I am a licensed and ordained minister, certified and licensed counselor and I have been in the ministry for over 15 year. I have a Bachelor Degree in Religious Education, A Master of Divinity Degree, and a Doctorate in Theology Degree. I have been a Pastor for a little over 5 years... I had been offered many churches to Pastor, but I choose to Pastor the un-churched of our society.

One day while, I was sitting at my home Church and I looked around the congregation and saw that the Church membership was blessed. Yet when I walked outside of the Church and looked around the community, I became depress. I tried to get the Pastor to start an outreach ministry to invite the people from the community to come in and fellowship. I was told by some of the members that they did not want associate with those people.

I knew within my spirit that it was time to leave and began a ministry of my own to reach these people and give them the word of God. To tell them that God loves them and he is concern for their well being. I go places within my community that other ministers are afraid to go... I go to crack houses, and neighborhoods that the police do not go but I go to reach these people. When I go I always keep

in mind what God told Moses when he was to go before Pharaoh in the book of Exodus, I AM WITH YOU!!!
I rented this old bar and use it as a Church but it has been sold... I was a blessing to have because it was first of all cheap, and located in a good area where I can reach the people and they can reach me. I am currently looking to use this funeral home as a next place of worship.

One day I woke up and the Lord told me to write out an ad and submit across the internet. So I go up and wrote out an ad and submitted it to thousands of sites, e-mail addresses, friends, family members, and various organizations.

 I have only gotten a few responses but those that have responded are now my friends and pen pals. So the Lord has blessed me with richness of good friends across this nation and around the world.

Regarding my vision for my ministry.... What I really want more than anything is to be able to buy these three acres of land and build a permanent home for The New Testament Bible Church. A place people from all walks of life can come and worship freely. Where people can come and not be judge by their pasts or present life, but come and worship God in spirit and truth. I know what I am asking and seeking is a miracle, but my God is big and able to supply all of my needs and wants. So I am trusting in him and whom ever he works through to bring about this miracle......
